De Acid 240 Disc, met alles op en aan dat ook op een grote-mensen-mountainbike zit, is precies wat kids graag willen. Zo verbetert de soepele voorvork van Suntour het comfort en de controle op onverharde paden. En met de 8-speed aandrijflijn, inclusief zeer breedbandige cassette, komen ze overal op en af. Wel zo veilig: de hydraulische schijfremmen hebben speciale kinderremhendels. Aandacht voor details, daar gaat het om. Zo staat niets spannende offroad-avonturen meer in de weg. De Acid 240 Disc is gemaakt van hetzelfde hittebehandelde 6061 aluminium als onze grote-mensen-bikes, inclusief nokjes voor een bidonhouder en spatborden. Het frame is daarom net zo licht en degelijk, maar met de juiste proporties voor kinderen. Ook de geometrie is maatwerk: speels en levendig, maar tegelijkertijd stabiel en goed controleerbaar. En omdat we weten dat een valpartij desondanks niet uitgesloten is, hebben we de achterpat waaraan de derailleur is bevestigd vervangbaar gemaakt.

Dat is geen toeval: wij vinden dat een frame dat technisch uitstekend presteert er ook strak uit mag zien.Daarom zijn de kabels intern weggewerkt, met bovendien een voorbereiding voor een verstelbare zadelpen. De montagepunten bieden onder meer compatibiliteit met onze semi-geïntegreerde IC 2.1-bagagedrager en een achterstandaard. Een conische balhoofdbuis zorgt voor vertrouwenwekkend stuurgedrag.
